Even with Sunday night's matchup with Kansas City's nasty defense on tap, Matt Prater maintains his top billing on Athlon Sports' fantasy football Week 11 kicker rankings. Denver's offensive potential alone is enough to keep Prater in the top spot, as is the case for Stephen Gostkowski even though New England will be on the road to take on the NFL's second-stingiest defense (Carolina).
But both of them are looking up to someone else when it comes to the No. 1 fantasy scorer at the position. Seattle's Steven Hauschka has passed both Prater and Gostkowski for that honor (although to be fair the fact that Seattle has yet to go on bye has a lot to do with this), thanks to his strong leg and a lot of opportunities over the past month. Hauschka is second in the league in made field goals with 22 and half of those have come from 40 yards and beyond. He has eight successful three-pointers and 12 PATs in his last four games to make him fantasy's most productive kicker during that span. This week Hauschka and the Seahawks host a Minnesota team that is giving up 31 points per game and the eighth-most fantasy points to kickers this season. Looks like this Seahawk may soar yet again this Sunday.
Each week during the NFL season, we will rank enough players at each position to appease everyone from those in 8-team leagues to 16-team leagues, those that can start two QBs, two TEs, three RBs and four WRs. We cut out the rest, because if you're looking at who the 50th-best running back or the 17th-best kicker is for that week, you need more help than any Web site can give you.
