At this point in the season, don’t get cute with kickers. Make and win the playoffs with who got you there, after consulting Athlon Sports' fantasy football Week 13 kicker rankings of course.
New England’s Stephen Gostkowski is fantasy’s top-scoring kicker, so stick with him this week in Houston. It doesn’t hurt that the Texans have allowed the 10th-most points to kickers during their current nine-game losing streak.
Denver’s Matt Prater had the most points he has scored since the shootout in Dallas when he faced Kansas City two weeks ago. His 11 were the most since the season-high 18 against the Cowboys in Week 5.
Dan Carpenter should be a good sleeper this week. He and the Buffalo Bills welcome an Atlanta Falcons team allowing the most to fantasy points to kickers this year. Carpenter is one point shy of being a top-12 kicker this season, and is owned in less than 10 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
Each week during the NFL season, we will rank enough players at each position to appease everyone from those in 8-team leagues to 16-team leagues, those that can start two QBs, two TEs, three RBs and four WRs. We cut out the rest, because if you're looking at who the 50th-best running back or the 17th-best kicker is for that week, you need more help than any Web site can give you.
