Fantasy Football 2016 Defense/Special Teams Rankings: Week 8

In all likelihood, the Minnesota Vikings defense/special teams is likely the top-scoring fantasy DST in your league, and that’s even with the team already having its bye week. Whether it’s No. 1 or near the top, the important thing for now is that the Vikings DST is the top starting choice for Week 8 because of its Monday night matchup with Jay Cutler and a struggling Chicago offense. Minnesota has gotten a lot of sacks (19), forced a bunch of turnovers (16) and already has scored four defensive/special teams touchdowns. Those are all stats that are music to a fantasy owner’s ears.

Then there is the Tennessee Titans DST, which is are only 41 percent owned but checks in at No. 3 for Week 8. This is partly due to schedule (six teams on bye) but also because of the matchup against Jacksonville. The Jaguars have really been struggling on offense and typically Thursday night games have been low-scoring, often sloppy affairs. The Titans have 20 sacks and six interceptions on the season. It’s possible they could add to both of these numbers and get into some other statistical columns on Thursday night.
