Depending on league scoring, Matt Ryan has the most fantasy points out of all quarterbacks. He faces the Green Bay Packers in Week 8, whose secondary is so decimated Ryan and Julio Jones should have a field day. But even with this appealing matchup and a track record of success this season, Ryan is No. 2 on the list of starting options for Week 8.
Instead, Tom Brady is the No. 1-ranked fantasy quarterback in Week 8. Brady has played in just three games because of his four-game suspension, but he has eight touchdowns and no interceptions and is averaging more than 30 fantasy points (Athlon scoring) per game. The Bills have been very tough on opposing QBs this season, but this time Buffalo is facing Brady, not rookie Jacoby Brissett.
With six teams on bye, fantasy owners may be searching for a replacement quarterback. Alex Smith, owned in 38 percent of Yahoo! leagues, has a decent matchup against Indianapolis and will work as a bye-week fill-in for those quarterback-needy lineups.
Teams on bye: Baltimore, Los Angeles, Miami, New York Giants, Pittsburgh, San Francisco
