Fantasy Football Week 5 Injury Updates: Randall Cobb, James Jones, Davante Adams, Allen Hurns
There are plenty of wide receivers on the Week 5 injury reports, which is not something fantasy owners want to see. The early-season carnage has been so bad that several teams have more than one wideout on the injury report. That is the case for both Green Bay and San Diego, as well as Chicago. The Packers and Chargers (and one Jaguar) are covered below, while you can get the latest on the injured Bears and a few other WRs here.
There’s also plenty of injured running backs (Exhibit A, Exhibit B) and a quarterback and several tight ends that you will want to read up on before setting your starting lineup and hoping for the best in Week 5.

Randall Cobb, WR, Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams
Probable – Shoulder
Cobb has been dealing with the shoulder injury all season and will likely be on the injury report the rest of the way. He did suffer a setback, but it isn't anything that will cause him to miss playing time. He's playing today and is a WR1.
James Jones, WR, Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams
Probable – Hamstring
Jones put in limited practices all week, but this is likely just giving the veteran rest. The Packers’ wide receivers are banged up, and the team wants to make sure everyone is as healthy as possible. Jones has either scored a touchdown or had at least 98 yards in each game so far this season. The matchup is tougher, but he is still a solid WR3 for Week 5.
Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams
Doubtful – Ankle
After initially be listed as questionable, Adams was downgraded to doubtful on Saturday. This makes sense considering he hasn’t practiced all week. His upside is too appealing to get him rid of him just yet, so continue to stash Adams on your bench.
Allen Hurns, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Probable – Ankle
Hurns has scored touchdowns in the past two games and put up a 100-yard effort in Week 4. This ankle injury has been lingering, so don't let that stop you from playing him. He is a WR3 with upside, but don’t be surprised if the touchdown streak comes to an end this afternoon.
Stevie Johnson, WR, San Diego Chargers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, Monday, 8:30 p.m. ET
Questionable – Hamstring
Johnson didn't practice all week, so it should come as no surprise that he's already been ruled out, even though the Chargers don't play until Monday night. Go ahead and make your Week 5 plans without Johnson.
Malcom Floyd, WR, San Diego Chargers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, Monday, 8:30 p.m. ET
Questionable – Concussion
Floyd did suffer a concussion last Sunday, but he was practicing in full this week. He looks to play on Monday night, but that doesn’t mean he should be in your starting lineup. Even with Stevie Johnson’s likely absence, Floyd hasn’t done enough on the field to warrant much fantasy consideration. Same goes for teammate Dontrelle Inman, who no longer carries much appeal with Floyd likely to play on Monday night along with the return of tight end Antonio Gates after serving his four-game suspension.
