New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month and New York Jets defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson was named the Defensive Rookie of the Month for November on Wednesday.
Glennon finished the month completing 62-of-88 passes (70.5 percent) for 785 yards, seven touchdowns and only one interception. He also had a 119.7 passer rating. He posted a passer rating of at least 120 in three of his four games during the month of November.
Glennon joins Shaun King (December 1999) as the only Buccaneers quarterbacks to be named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month.
Richardson finished the month with 22 tackles, including four tackles for loss and a half sack. He has made 10 starts in 11 games for the Jets this season totaling 32 tackles, three sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
The 2013 first-round pick out of Missouri joins Erik Coleman (September 2004), Jonathan Vilma (November 2004), and David Harris (November 2007) as the only Jets to be named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month.
