Packers Receiver Called out for Old Quote After Loss to Lions

Jayden Reed was looking forward to a trip to Detroit to face the Lions, but he left Thursday's 34-31 loss empty-handed.

Entering Thursday’s NFC North matchup, Reed led the Packers in receiving with 44 catches for 693 yards and six touchdowns. However, he was targeted just once against Detroit and finished the game without a reception.

Reed talked a big game in October while on the "St. Brown Podcast," engaging in some playful trash talk with Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

"Wait until I come to Detroit," Reed told St. Brown, playing out his proposed touchdown celebration on the podcast.

Fans were quick to bring up the quote after Reed's shutout in the loss.

"Always the players that talk the loudest that end up being irrelevant," one fan said.

"Damn me and Reed had the same amount of yards and catches tonight," another fan added.

Even Lions receiver Jameson Williams could be found in the comment section trolling Reed.

"Did he come?" Williams wrote along with some crying laughing emojis.

The Packers hung with the high-powered Lions, with Christian Watson's four catches for 114 yards accounting for most of the passing game's production. Detroit sealed the victory with a 35-yard field goal from Jake Bates at time expired.

The loss dropped Green Bay to 9-4 while the 12-1 Lions locked up a playoff spot.
