The NFL's ties to Thanksgiving go all the way back to the league's formation in 1920. The holiday tradition has expanded to a tripleheader giving football fans plenty of gridiron action to add to their Turkey Day festivities. This year's offerings has traditional hosts Detroit and Dallas taking on division rivals, with an NFC South matchup in the Big Easy serving as the nightcap.

Chicago Bears (7-3) at Detroit Lions (4-6)

This will mark the 17th time these longtime rivals have faced off on Thanksgiving with series currently dead even at 8-8. These two teams just faced each other less than two weeks ago, a game Chicago won 34-22. The Bears have now won four in a row following Sunday's night victory over Minnesota and can put even more distance between them and the rest of the NFC North with a season sweep of the Lions.

This is the first time these teams have played each other on Thanksgiving. The all-time series between the divisional rivals sits at 52-47 (including playoffs) in favor of the Falcons, but the Saints won the first meeting this season, 43-37 back in Week 3. Altanta is just 3-4 since that game and has lost two in a row while New Orleans remains the NFL's hottest team having ratttled off nine straight wins since falling to Tampa Bay in Week 1.
