Indianapolis Colts Announce Official Running Back Decision For Thursday Night Game

The Indianapolis Colts are making a significant decision regarding their running back situation for Thursday night's game.

The Colts announced on Wednesday that star running back Jonathan Taylor, who is dealing with an ankle injury, will miss Thursday evening's game.

Indianapolis, as a result, is elevating running back Phillip Lindsay to the active roster. He will make his Colts debut this evening vs. his former team, the Denver Broncos.

Lindsay will split carries with Nyheim Hines with Taylor out of the mix.

"The #Colts are elevating RB Phillip Lindsay from the practice squad for tonight’s game against the #Broncos, per source. So with Jonathan Taylor (ankle) out, Lindsay is set to make his Indianapolis debut against his old team in Denver," said Tom Pelissero.

A significant decision for the Colts. They are clearly trying to ensure Jonathan Taylor is 100 percent before having him return from an ankle injury.

The good news is Phillip Lindsay is experienced and is capable of providing a few big plays per game.

The Colts battle the Broncos in Denver tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET.
