Is Jerry Jones Actually Considering Starting Cooper Rush Over Dak Prescott? Here's His Answer

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones has teased on multiple occasions a quarterback controversy within the Dallas Cowboys' building.

Dak Prescott has been out with a thumb injury since Week 1. Cooper Rush has started at quarterback ever since and has won three straight.

Prescott is expected to return soon from injury. When he does will the Cowboys stick with the hot hand in Rush or hand the reins back over to the veteran Prescott?

Jones told reporters this Tuesday that as of today he's not considering Rush over Prescott. In other words, he's sticking with his franchise quarterback.

Is there a scenario or number of wins that would lead to Cowboys opting for Cooper Rush over a healthy Dak Prescott? Jerry Jones to @1053thefan: “No. No. As I see it right today.”

It didn't take Jerry Jones too long to walk back his comments about a potential Cowboys' quarterback controversy.

Just a few weeks ago he was entertaining the unthinkable.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones entertained idea Cooper Rush could play well enough, team could win enough to force decision at QB when Dak Prescott able to return. “Wouldn’t it be something if you had a dilemma as to which way to go?” You’d want that controversy? “Of course I would.”

It sounds like Jerry Jones has changed his mind, but you never know. Tomorrow Jones may like the idea even more.

The Cowboys play the Rams on Sunday.
