The NFC East is proving to be a much bigger challenge than Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys were expecting, at least early on in the 2022 season. Each team in the division has won at least one game and the Eagles and Giants are tied atop the standings at 2-0, respectively.
Jones and the Cowboys, meanwhile, are awaiting Dak Prescott's return. He underwent surgery last week and should return at some point in Oct.
In the meantime, Jones and the Cowboys are scouting out the rest of the NFC East. Jones has been very impressed with what he's seen from Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
"(He) has really evolved and has been better than when he came out than you might’ve thought. I was particularly impressed with his passing," said Jones.
Jalen Hurts has already inserted himself in the NFL MVP conversation. Last night vs. the Vikings, the former Alabama and Oklahoma star had 333 yards passing with one touchdown and 57 yards rushing with two additional scores.
The Eagles not only look like the clear-cut favorite in the NFC East; they might also be the favorite in the NFC.
Jones and the Cowboys, meanwhile, battle the New York Giants next Monday night.
