Jets' Aaron Rodgers Decision Sparks Mixed Reactions From NFL Fans

Despite hinting on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this week that a return in 2023 isn't going to happen after all, Aaron Rodgers is back on the Jets' 53-man roster.

That decision from the New York franchise has NFL fans divided this week.

Rodgers' return to the roster on Wednesday led to the Jets cutting fullback Nick Bawden. Bawden, though, did ultimately return to the practice squad a short time later after clearing waivers. But with that said, his return resulted in the Jets cutting another practice squad player on Friday, CB Kalon Barnes.

So, that begs the question: Was Rodgers' addition to the 53-man roster actually worth it

Roster moves involving practice squad players happen all the time.

Barnes himself has changed teams three times since August, as he began the season with the Vikings before joining the Steelers - and then the Jets' - practice squads.

However, NFL fans still seem to be torn over whether adding Rodgers - who won't even play this season - back to the 53-man roster was worth all of the unintended consequences.

"He needs to stay on IR. This isn't the actions of someone thinking about what's best for the team, this is someone who is making sure the spotlight stays on him," one fan writes.

"I don’t get it why would they put him back on the roster if he’s out the rest of the season," another said.

"Aaron Rodgers has accomplished what he set out to do this season, have his name in the headlines every week," one X user argued.

Is the criticism towards Rodgers and the Jets warranted?
