Joe Burrow Takes A Significant Step In His Post-Surgery Recovery

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has missed the majority of training camp so far as he recovers from an appendectomy. But it appears he's nearing a return.

Last week, the young quarterback witnessed practice while riding around on a cart. On Monday, he ditched the cart, indicating his recovery is going well.

Burrow enjoyed practice on his own two feet this Monday morning.

"Despite an appendectomy robbing Joe Burrow of the beginning of training camp, he's been a constant presence for the Bengals," via NFL.com. "He's spent the last week patrolling Cincinnati's practices in a cart, even driving through some conditioning drills alongside his teammates. While some Monday morning quarterbacks may still be hoping from their armchairs that seated sprints offer a new genre of exercise, Burrow is intent to move on. The third-year QB shed his wheels today to attend practice on his own two feet. The question now is how soon Burrow will go from standing and watching to dropping back and throwing."

It sounds like Joe Burrow could soon make his way back to practice. First, he'll resume throwing and light conditioning activities once he's healed up enough.

The Bengals start the 2022 season on Sept. 11 against the Steelers.
