Kansas City Chiefs Are Releasing Kicker After Rough Performance On Sunday

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered a pretty shocking loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Now, as a result, the AFC West franchise is releasing a kicker. That kicker is Matt Ammendola.

The Chiefs are releasing kicker Matt Ammendola this Monday afternoon. He had a tough showing on Sunday and Kansas City is moving on, as a result.

Ammendola converted just one of his two field goal attempts on Sunday and even missed an extra point. It was a pretty awful performance all around.

"The Chiefs have released K Matt Ammendola from the practice squad. He struggled in Sunday's loss to the Colts," said Field Yates.

The good news for the Chiefs is Harrison Butker is expected to return soon. When he does the Chiefs will be just set at the kicking position.

Butker has been dealing with a left ankle injury. It shouldn't keep him out much longer.

As for Ammendola, he's on the free agent market after getting released this Monday afternoon.
