Kansas City Chiefs Waived Cornerback Following Loss To Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs are reshuffling their defensive back room following a 24-20 loss to Buffalo on Sunday.

In a move announced by Chiefs Wire's Charles Goldman Monday, Kansas City has decided to waive cornerback Dicaprio Bootle.

"#Chiefs LB Willie Gay Jr.'s suspension was officially lifted by the commissioner today," Charles Goldman reported Monday. "The team received a week-long roster exemption for Gay, but they also waived CB Dicaprio Bootle."

Also announced in the post was an update on linebacker Willie Gay Jr., who was removed from the commissioners suspended list Monday.

Due to the suspension, the Chiefs were granted a week-long roster exemption meaning that waiving Bootle opened up a spot on the 53-man roster.

With one spot open, Chiefs Wire suggested that cornerback Trent McDuffie could be activated this week to take Bootle's slot. McDuffie, who suffered a hamstring injury early in this season that placed him on injured reserve, was designated to return last week but was not placed on the 53-man roster ahead of the Bills game.

The Chiefs will travel to the West Coast in Week 7 as they take on the San Francisco 49ers.
