The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day at 1 p.m. ET on Netflix in a matchup of Super Bowl contenders from the AFC.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter revealed the latest injury report on star defensive tackle Chris Jones. Schefter explained Kansas City’s anchor on the defensive line is unlikely to play because of a calf injury. He suffered the injury in Week 16 against the Houston Texans.
Jones was making progress in practice; he was listed as questionable for the game prior to this report. However, the Chiefs’ quick turnaround between games makes the recovery process extremely difficult. Kansas City is playing its second game in five days; it beat the Texans on Saturday.
Jones is one of the most established stars on Kansas City’s roster. The defensive tackle has been with the Chiefs since 2016. He is trying to help Kansas City become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.
Despite the injury woes throughout the season, the Chiefs are the betting favorite to win Super Bowl LIX, per ESPN BET.

In Jones’ ninth year in the league, he has recorded one forced fumble, five sacks and 37 tackles.
While Jones may not be able to suit up for the Chiefs, they are 2 1/2-point favorites entering the Christmas Day game, per ESPN BET.
Kansas City heads into Week 17 with a league-best 14-1 record and riding a five-game winning streak.
