Skip Bayless Sends Warning to Chiefs Fans After Close Game vs. Chargers
The Kansas City Chiefs held off a stiff challenge from Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night as Patrick Mahomes worked his usual late game magic en route to a 19-17 win at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chargers now find themselves tied with Dan Campbell's Detroit Lions for the best record in the NFL at 12 wins and one loss on the season heading toward next weekend's road clash with coach Kevin Stefanski's Cleveland Browns.
Following the game, well known sports reporter Skip Bayless strongly questioned the Chiefs' vaunted home field advantage at Arrowhead Stadium, making a choicely worded declaration on the current state of Andy Reid's team's homefield advantage.
"Celebrate now, Chiefs. But nobody is scared of Arrowhead any more," Bayless said. "Borrowed time."
The Chiefs are two games clear of both the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers for the conference's best record heading down the stretch. The Bills handed the Chiefs their only loss of the season by a score of 30-21 on November 17 at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
If things proceed as expected in the final few games, Kansas City could have home field throughout the playoffs, which would put the onus on Chiefs fans to show up and make life as difficult on opposing teams as possible.
"Everyone said this last year and they still won the Super Bowl," one fan said in response to Bayless' comments on X.
"Bills will win the AFC this year," another fan said.
"You're right but they still keep winning," another fan added.
