Kirk Herbstreit Facing Backlash For Daniel Jones Comments on 'Thursday Night Football'
Despite being one of the most highly-anticipated games of the NFL season thus far, the 'Thursday Night Football' matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants left fans rather frustrated as the refs were extremely active in throwing flags.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys came away with the win as he went 22-27 for 227 yards and one touchdown. On the other side, Daniel Jones still played relatively well, finishing with 281 yards and an interception.
The lone pick came at the end of the fourth quarter in a last second effort to reach the end zone as he otherwise controlled the game.
Announcer Kirk Herbstreit praised Jones numerous times for his "impressive" play throughout the game, which has led fans to give him some flack as they feel he made a few mistakes that Herbstreit didn't talk about.
One fan even said that they think "Daniel Jones is paying Kirk Herbstreit."
One fan pointed out that Jones under-threw his receivers multiple times which wasn't noted by Herbstreit, saying, "Kirk Herbstreit can't find his way to say Daniel Jones is under-throwing his WRs."
Other fan's added, "urprised Kirk Herbstreit hasn’t brought up where Daniel Jones went to college yet.," and, "Kirk Herbstreit really watched this whole game and at the 2 minute warning said daniel jones “played well” bro get outta the booth."
Particularly down the stretch, Jones' accuracy wasn't the best. Even so, he did exceed some expectations as he helped the Giants stay in the game until the very end.
