The San Francisco 49ers are off to a rough start to the 2022 season. Trey Lance is out for the season, they're 1-2 and now Trent Williams is going to miss several weeks with an injury.
Kyle Shanahan announced this Monday afternoon that offensive tackle Trent Williams suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Niners' 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night. Williams is likely going to mix the next four to six weeks, as a result.
A significant loss for the 49ers, who are not having a good start to the 2022 season. Hopefully Williams can be 100 percent later on this season.
"#49ers All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams has a high right ankle sprain. High ankles are usually four to six weeks, coach Kyle Shanahan said. No surgery is required," said Matt Maiocco.
Trent Williams is the best tackle in football. To say this is a significant loss is an understatement.
The 49ers, meanwhile, play a pivotal NFC West game against the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday. It's worth noting they beat the Rams in Week 18 without Williams last year.
Can the 49ers turn a corner this Sunday?
