Las Vegas Raiders safety Jaydon Grant has been trying to prove his worth as a football player since his early college days.

From starting as a walk-on at Oregon State to going undrafted in 2023, Grant has had the odds stacked against him, but that has not stopped him yet.

Despite being one of the Pacific 12 Conference's top prospects in 2023, Grant went undrafted, but found a home with the Raiders as a free agent last May.

Grant played in all three of Las Vegas' 2023 preseason games, totaling six combined tackles, including four in the final game against the Dallas Cowboys. 

The Raiders would waive Grant as part of final roster cuts before signing him to the practice squad the following day.

Last month, Las Vegas signed Grant to a reserve/future contract. His one-year deal is worth $795,000.

Grant earned his spot as a walk-on at Oregon State after playing only one high school football season. He played just three games in his first two years with the program, having been limited by injuries in both seasons.

Grant's redshirt sophomore season in 2019 was when he really began to turn the corner, as he made nine starts in 12 appearances. He then started in all seven of the Beavers' games during the 2020 season.

National recognition finally came Grant's way in 2021, when he was named an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, as well as a Burlsworth Trophy nominee.

In his final season with the Beavers, Grant would be named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team and was again a Burlsworth Trophy nominee.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
