Look: NFL Kicker Getting Praised For His Toughness

Chargers kicker Dustin Hopkins

An unlikely player is receiving kudos from around the NFL tonight for battling through an injury.

After making a 37 yard field goal, Los Angeles Chargers kicker Dustin Hopkins appeared to favor his hamstring and briefly went down to the ground after the kick.

"Dustin Hopkins warrior," Pardon My Take tweeted during Monday Night Football.

The video shows Hopkins falling to one knee after making a field goal that tied up the game between the Chargers and Broncos at 10-10.

Others, including former All-Pro punter Pat McAfee, also chimed in to show their support for Hopkins.

"D Hopkins… can’t stand on his leg but he can make a kick for the team. #Grit #Team #AttaBaby," McAfee tweeted Monday.

If Hopkins, who is questionable to return to the game tonight, is unable to perform normal kicking duties, it's likely that Los Angeles will opt for a more aggressive game plan in the second half that diminishes the need for a kicker.

The Chargers currently trail the Broncos 13-10 early in the 3rd quarter.
