Kurt Benkert, an undrafted free agent out of Virginia in 2018, knows all about moving from team to team in search for the perfect fit.

The 27-year old quarterback has bounced around the NFL, initially signing with the Atlanta Falcons in 2018 before being waived and signing with the team's practice squad.

Benkert, a Packer for most of 2021, signed a practice squad deal with the 49ers in August of this year, but was ultimately released just a few weeks later.

However, after reports came out today that San Francisco is re-signing Benkert, the quarterback had the perfect reaction and shared it to Twitter

The GIF Benkert shared shows Grandpa Simpson walking in, placing his hat on the rack, and then promptly walking back out with his hat just moments later.

Niners fans as well as Benkert's followers thought the quarterback's ability to make jokes at his own expense was hilarious.

"Congrats and the Simpsons GIF made me laugh out loud," Larry Venus told Benkert.

Even Benkert couldn't keep himself from continuing the joke, as the quarterback followed up with this tweet:

"For people asking I had a mini bye week last week," Benkert continued.

Benkert is hoping to finally crack the 53-man roster in San Francisco as 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7.
