Just hours before Thursday Night Football between New Orleans and Arizona, Ian Rapoport praised Saints' quarterback Andy Dalton for taking care of the football.
That has not been the case tonight.
In the first half alone, Dalton threw three interceptions including two pick-sixes, prompting Richard Sherman to say that New Orleans "might as well throw Jameis [Winston] out there and give him a shot."
"If you're gonna have these turnovers, you might as well throw Jameis out there and give him a shot," Sherman said during halftime of Thursday Night Football.
Dalton had done a good job of keeping the ball out of harm's way before tonight's game, only throwing one interception in 84 pass attempts during his three prior starts this season.
His three interceptions on Thursday Night Football, however, put him at four on the year, just one less than Winston.
Winston hasn't seen the field since Week 3 when he aggravated a back injury sustained early in his 2022 season.
Should Dalton continue to struggle in the second half tonight, Winston is active this week and reportedly available in a backup role if needed.
