One of the most notable defensive free agents from this past offseason has been benched to start the second half of Chargers vs. Broncos in Week 6.
After Los Angeles struggled to contain Russell Wilson in the first half of Monday Night Football tonight, the Chargers have decided to bench cornerback J.C. Jackson for the start of the 3rd quarter.
"JC Jackson was a big FA signing for the Chargers and it seems he got insta-benched after a horrible 1st half," SBNation's Seahawks blog Field Gulls tweeted during the game tonight. "Wonder what that means for Sunday."
As mentioned in the tweet that was quoted, Jackson was benched for Michael Davis, a 27-year-old corner out of BYU.
Jackson, according to sources close to the Chargers, has struggled mightily in the 2022 season with his new team. The former Patriots standout only has one pass defended this year through three games and just 13 total tackles.
While it's unclear whether Jackson will return to the field tonight, the Chargers would certainly like to see him return to form sooner rather than later.
