Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Will 'Likely' Miss Multiple Games This Season

The Los Angeles Rams offense won't be at full strength during Thursday night's NFL season opener at SoFi Stadium. The Rams have officially ruled a wide receiver "out" of tonight's game. That player is Van Jefferson.

The Rams are ruling Jefferson "out" of tonight's game between Los Angeles and the Buffalo Bills. To make matters worse, the 26-year-old will "likely" miss multiple games to start the 2022 season.

Jefferson underwent minor knee surgery during the offseason. He hasn't been practicing this week; it's a clear indication he won't be suited up tonight when the Rams host the Bills in Week 1.

"I'm told #Rams WR Van Jefferson (knee) is likely to miss more than one game, per league source. Jefferson is OUT for the NFL opener tonight in LA featuring the #Rams and the #Bills," said Josina Anderson.

Van Jefferson emerged as a serious deep-threat weapon for the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. He caught 50 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games last year.

Luckily, the Rams have no shortage of weapons in the passing game, even without Jefferson in the lineup. Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson and Brandon Powell will carry the load in Jefferson's absence.

The Rams host the Bills tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET.
