Mike McCarthy Announces Friday Update On Micah Parsons

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy

The Cowboys had a surprising addition to their injury report on Thursday.

Micah Parsons is listed on the NFC East team's Thursday injury report with a shoulder injury. He was a limited participant.

It's still unclear if Parsons will play this Sunday when the Cowboys battle the Bears. But McCarthy doesn't sound too concerned about his star edge rusher.

McCarthy told reporters this Friday morning that he doesn't have "high concern" for Parsons regarding his shoulder injury.

“I don’t have high concern for Micah. I just want to see Sam practice on Saturday. That’ll be the final determination for Sam," said McCarthy.

Micah Parsons is obviously a high-impact player for the Cowboys, and his status will be especially vital against a Justin Fields-led offense.

Fields can pick up big chunks of yardage on the ground with his legs. His ability to escape the pocket and avoid sacks/tackles in the backfield.

If Parsons plays he will be a big help for the Cowboys in their attempt to keep Fields contained. Without him Fields could have some big plays on the ground.
