Mike McCarthy Was Asked About His Interest In Odell Beckham Jr. This Monday

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy

Will the Cowboys win the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes? It certainly sounds like it, at least based on what Mike McCarthy said this Monday afternoon.

During a Monday press conference a reporter asked McCarthy about his interest in the veteran OBJ. He didn't hesitate in admitting he's interested.

"In particular to Odell, I've always been a huge fan of his. From... all the guys that I've worked with in the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns, everyone has nothing but great things to say about him.

"Obviously I've always been so impressed with his football-playing ability. I've just heard so many excellent, excellent things about him over the years. I think those are conversations for the future, but right now we're focused on our guys."

Mike McCarthy's glowing remarks about Odell Beckham Jr. come just days after the veteran wide receiver mentioned the Cowboys as one of four teams he's thinking about.

“Whether it’s Buffalo, Green Bay calling, the Cowboys, reunion with the Giants, I want to be able to spill—not saying I only got three or four left, but these next three or four years—into something where I can buy a home, like I can call this place home,” Beckham said, via SI.com."

Odell Beckham Jr. and the Cowboys are basically a match made in heaven. Will the veteran play for McCarthy's team later this season?
