The New England Patriots are releasing a former first-round draft pick this Tuesday.
The Patriots are releasing wide receiver Laquon Treadwell this week.
Treadwell was a first-round pick out of Ole Miss in 2013. However, he never lived up to the hype.
Treadwell had been spending time on the Pats' practice squad, but now the AFC East franchise is moving on.
"The #Patriots released WR Laquon Treadwell from the practice squad," said Ari Meirov.
The bigger issue for the Patriots at the moment is quarterback health. It doesn't look like Mac Jones is going to be ready for Sunday's game, and it's unclear if Bryan Hoyer will be as well.
Bill Belichick might as well roll the dice and go with the rookie Bailey Zappe. The moment didn't appear too big for him last Sunday vs. the Packers at Lambeau.
