The New England Patriots' 27-10 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 8 was a chance for newly-acquired wideout Mohamed Sanu to make his Patriots debut. 

During the 8th win in as many games for New England, Sanu was targeted five times and reeled in two catches for 23 yards. His first catch of the day came in the second quarter on a 4th-and-4 play when he caught the ball right at the first down marker to move the chains. 

His second and final reception came on a beautiful route run that left him open for 19 yards in the fourth quarter.

Out of a possible 68 offensive snaps on Sunday (including penalties) Sanu played 36 snaps. 

"Mohamed Sanu worked really hard," head coach Bill Belichick said during his postgame press conference. "He spent a lot of extra time with everybody, especially Joe [Judge] and Troy [Brown]. Obviously, Josh [McDaniels], Tom [Brady] and the other receivers, Phil [Dorsett] and Jules [Julian Edelman] and those guys. But he worked hard and I thought he gained a lot of ground on the offense. Hopefully, he'll be further ahead next week but I'm glad he's here and hopefully he'll be able to contribute for us."

Playing over 50 percent of the snaps in Week 8 and catching a fourth down pass is telling of how far Sanu has come in just the few days he's been a Patriot. There's a reason that both Belichick and Brady pushed to acquire Sanu, and it's because of how consistent and reliable a player the 30 year old receiver is. 

While playing in terrible conditions wasn't exactly a great opportunity for Sanu to display what he can do in the passing game, there will be ample opportunities ahead during the second half of season for him to show why New England was okay with investing a second-round pick in an aging receiver. Up next the Patriots play the Baltimore Ravens, who have given up to 7th most passing yards per game this season. That should lead to a good opportunity for a breakout game on a new team for Sanu.
