Russell Wilson and the New York Giants fell short of expectations in the 2025 NFL season. They went 4-13 and missed the playoffs for the third consecutive year. With his one-year, $10.5 million deal with the Giants expiring, Wilson is an unrestricted free agent.
Wilson began his season with New York as its starting quarterback, playing three games and completing 69 of 119 passes for 831 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. After the 0-3 start, Wilson was benched in favor of 2025 first-round pick Jaxson Dart, who went 4-10 and was a Rookie of the Year finalist.

Wilson has done much more outside of football during his 14-year career. He has partnered with numerous major brands, including Microsoft, Pepsi, Bose, Nike and Mercedes-Benz. He is a minority owner of the MLS’ Seattle Sounder FC. Wilson isn’t done. He recently added to his off-field portfolio.
Ahead of Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, Wilson announced a new partnership with Hasbro, which makes popular games and toys such as Monopoly. The former Seahawks quarterback joined the company to promote a new version of the popular board game Guess Who?
Instead of the regular characters in the normal version of Guess Who?, the NFL edition features many of the current stars, including Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb. The NFL edition was available in limited release before the 2025 season and was released to retail stores on Jan. 1.
“Guess Who? NFL Edition might be my new favorite board game 🏈 @hasbrogames,” Wilson wrote on Instagram.
Wilson must wait until March 11 before he can sign a new contract with a team assuming he doesn’t retire at the age of 37.
