Giants WR Malik Nabers Joking Reaction to 'Dumpster Fire' Plane Message
With their 14-11 loss to the New Orleans Saints, many descriptors are available to scribes and wordsmiths to illustrate this 2024 season for the New York Giants. One such disgruntled fan took to the skies on Sunday by hiring a plane to fly over MetLife Stadium with a message affixed to the back directed at New York's ownership: "Mr. Mara, please fix this dumpster fire."
That's certainly one way to describe it. After another frustrating loss, Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was asked what he made of that sentiment. After a brief thought, the 21-year-old pass-catcher jokingly said, "I ain't paying for the plane."
Nabers saw 10 targets in Week 14, catching five for 79 yards. He hasn't scored a touchdown since his two-touchdown performance against the Cleveland Browns in Week 3 on September 22.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll continues to ride the hot seat as the Giants have lost eight straight games. Quarterback Daniel Jones was waived and can now be found on the sidelines of the Minnesota Vikings.
A coaching and front office overhaul appears necessary for the Giants, and owner John Mara will have to make difficult decisions once he finally decides to implement them.
The Giants are currently projected to have the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. They are tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for the league's worst record.
