Jets' Aaron Rodgers Offers 1 Positive From OT Loss To Dolphins
You will be hard-pressed to find any positives from the New York Jets' 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins, but Aaron Rodgers has found one.
Things have been improving ever so slightly for an offense that has been nearly unwatchable at times this season. Against the Dolphins, the offense scored on its first five possessions.
That's progress, right? Sure. But the offense was also two of five in the red zone, which Rodgers stated cost his team the game.
Despite the doom and gloom around yet another loss, Rodgers liked what the offense was able to do but highlighted the negative plays that plagued the unit.
“We had some good stretches,” Rodgers said. “I think we scored the first five possessions, we got to be better in the red zone, a couple negative plays and false starts that hurt us, but feel like we moved the ball pretty efficiently. Obviously had the two three and outs and then we're back tied and put together a nice drive to get down there, take the lead. But again, even on that drive, we had negative plays after we get down there like to the 25 or whatever, so disappointing.”
The stats back up Rodgers' claim.
The offense had 402 total yards, their highest total of the season, plus Rodgers surpassed that infamous 300-yard mark, a feat he hadn't accomplished since December 12, 2021.
So there's that. But it's a small consolation for a team thought to be, at the very least, playoff-bound to be eliminated from contention with four games still left to play.
