The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers are each right in the thick of NFC playoff conversations.

While Tampa Bay currently leads the NFC South, San Francisco has quickly made up ground in the competitive NFC West divisional race.

Despite both teams seeing success this season, one noted NFL insider has proposed an interesting hypothetical surrounding the quarterbacks for each team in 2023.

What if Jimmy Garoppolo replaces a retiring Tom Brady in Tampa Bay next season?

"It's gonna be wild if free agent Jimmy G replaces a retiring Tom Brady in Tampa next season," Matt Miller tweeted Wednesday.

Matt Miller, known for his extensive NFL draft analysis and insight, tweeted that it would be "wild" if upcoming free agent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo replaced Tom Brady in Tampa should he retire next season.

Both Garoppolo and Brady are in the final year of their respective contracts, meaning they'll become unrestricted free agents in 2023 able to sign with a team of their choosing.

In Brady's case, becoming a free agent next season could be an easy way for the legendary quarterback to slip into retirement.

However, given that it is Tom Brady, some have rumored that the now 45 year old quarterback could give it another go in 2023. Colin Cowherd even pondered the idea that San Francisco acquiring Christian McCaffrey before the trade deadline was part of their eventual plan to acquire Brady next year.

For Garoppolo, a relocation from San Francisco to Tampa Bay wouldn't be the first time he's been involved in a move related to Brady. Back in 2018, rumors surfaced that Garoppolo's former team, the New England Patriots, moved him to San Francisco after owner Robert Kraft demanded Bill Belichick trade him away to keep Brady.

While Tampa Bay is on a bye this week, San Francisco will take on the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football in Week 11.
