Week 13 of the fantasy football season is the last involving byes (Cleveland, Tennessee), but there are still plenty of options to put together quality lineups for daily contests. In particular, this week appears to have many value plays available, especially at wide receiver. This may make it easier to go top-heavy at quarterback and running back as you build your lineup.

As for last week, my suggested lineups had some success and also produced some big misses thanks to a few surprising duds. So in other words, pretty much business as usual. This week my strategy is to cash in by taking advantage of all the elite and safe options and mixing in some value plays in ideal matchups.

What I will be doing in this space is sharing my top plays for the week, a value play, and most importantly a lineup or two. I will likely be focusing on cash games (50/50 and Double Up) and not GPP (tournaments, multi-player) contests. My Week 13 lineups should work in both formats.

So let’s get into my top plays, value play and lineups for Week 13 shall we? As always any questions, arguments, or glowing praise can be sent to me via Twitter @fantsychillpony.

Week 13 Top Plays

These will be my top plays of the week. These are players who I will try to have in as many lineups of mine as possible. If I can, I will use all three in one lineup. A reminder for cash games: going with an elite quarterback is typically recommended. If you opt for a value quarterback he MUST meet value for your loaded lineup to be worth it.

QB: Drew Brees, New Orleans vs. Detroit ($9,300 FanDuel/$7,600 DraftKings)

Brees is the top-priced and likely top-owned quarterback this week. There are several options I would gladly use this week as well, but for cash games Brees at home against the worst pass defense in the league is simply impossible to pass up. There is plenty of value at wide receiver this week so you can load up on running back and quarterback. Brees is a lock for a cash play.

RB: David Johnson, Arizona vs. Washington ($9,200 FanDuel/$9,200 DraftKings)

Johnson is similar to Drew Brees and his workload is simply too good to pass up. With the value options at wide receiver this week having a strong RB tandem with Johnson as the anchor is certainly possible and recommended. Johnson is matchup-proof and a safe bet once again this week to meet value.

Recommended Articles

WR: Tyreek Hill, Kansas City at Atlanta ($5,800 FanDuel/$4,600 DraftKings)

Hill will certainly be on everyone’s radar this week after his fantastic game against Denver. Although his ability to mimic that performance is slim the Chiefs would be crazy not to incorporate him as a primary weapon in their offense in a game that should be a high-scoring affair.

TE: Travis Kelce, Kansas City at Atlanta ($6,300 FanDuel /$4,700 DraftKings)

Kelce like Tyreek Hill has had back-to-back big fantasy weeks with 21.1 and 20.3 DraftKings points in his last two games. That also makes four straight games with double-digit points for Kelce and three 20-plus performances in that span. It is as if the Chiefs have (finally) realized that Hill and Kelce are their best receiving options. Atlanta’s defense has had a hard time slowing any offense down, so Kelce should be a great play with a high floor this week.

Value Play of the Week

Marquess Wilson, WR, Chicago vs. San Francisco ($5,400 FanDuel /$4,000 DraftKings)

Wilson splashed on to the scene last week with eight caches (on 11 targets) for 125 yards and a touchdown. He may still be overlooked this week since he remains a somewhat unknown commodity and many may not be paying attention to the Bears. However, his price makes him a very nice option, and even if his targets drop a bit he should be able to allow you to fill your lineups with top-end talent elsewhere. San Francisco is not known for defense and this game could be a low-scoring affair, so as with all value plays the risk is there.

The Lineup(s)

This week I am only posting one lineup for each site. Again these are lineups that should work well, in addition to encompassing my top plays for the week in some fashion. However, I don’t recommend only using this lineup. Find values and mix it up. Making your lineup your own is more fun and challenging.

This week I constructed a lineup I will be playing in both types of games (Cash and GPP) on both sites.
