NFL Insider Has Big Update On Davante Adams' Week 8 Status

Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams reportedly missed his second consecutive practice of the week today with an undisclosed illness.

However, recent reports have surfaced which state Adams, who is suffering from what sources describe as a "bad flu," could still play in Las Vegas' Week 8 game against the Saints.

"#Raiders WR Davante Adams missed practice for a second straight day while battling what sources describe as a bad flu. There's optimism he’ll be over it and ready to go Sunday vs. the #Saints," Tom Pelissero tweeted Thursday afternoon.

As noted by Pelissero, there appears to be optimism that Adams will be able to recover from his illness in time to suit up for Sunday's game.

Adams, who leads the Raiders in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns this season, has quickly become quarterback Derek Carr's favorite target in an offense currently ranking third-best in the league in terms of scoring.

Las Vegas, 2-4, will travel to New Orleans for a road matchup with the Saints this Sunday.
