The Kansas City Chiefs are going to be without a key member of their defense for the next little portion of the 2022 season. That player is linebacker Willie Gay Jr.

The National Football League is suspending Willie Gay for the four games. He violated the NFL's personal conduct policy and is getting a four-game suspension, as a result.

Gay will be eligible to return for the Chiefs on Oct. 17. The Chiefs play the 49ers the following Sunday.

"#Chiefs LB Willie Gay Jr. was suspended without pay for the next four games for a violation of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Gay Jr. is eligible to return to the Chiefs’ active roster on Monday, Oct. 17 following the team’s Week 6 game vs. Buffalo," said NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

A significant hit to the Kansas City defense. Luckily Willie Gay can return in several weeks.

The Chiefs, meanwhile moved to 2-0 last Thursday night with a 27-24 win over the Chargers at Arrowhead.

This Sunday, Kansas City battles the Colts in Week 3 on Sunday.
