NFL Refs Brutally Roasted by Kirk Herbstreit, Al Michaels on 'Thursday Night Football'

Kirk Herbstreit and Al Michaels put the refs on blast at the end of the first half of the Cowboys-Giants game.

The NFL's Week 4 'Thursday Night Football' game was one of the most highly-anticipated games of the season thus far as it featured NFC East division rivals in the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants

That said, through halftime it hasn't disappointed, with both offenses seeming to flow well in the first half. However, while the game itself has been entertaining, the referees were very active throwing flags, even throwing two on the last kickoff the half with just seconds to go.

This led announcers Kirk Herbstreit and Al Michaels to roast the refs towards the end of the half, when there were almost too many flags thrown to count.

While this joke was a little harsh, it was very true as the refs have been incredibly active. Not only on the penalties called, but the physical flags thrown. One play was delayed slightly as they had to pick up three flags from the field.

Hopefully they let the game run its course more in the second half, or else neither team will be able to get much momentum going in their favor.
