In a storyline that arguably overshadowed a pivotal Week 11 matchup between two third-place teams- the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills- NFL Twitter was buzzing this week at the prospect of a snow game. And not just any snow game: But one featuring potentially six feet of snow.

But the NFL's decisive action Thursday put the kibosh on that possibility. The league said that Sunday's game would be re-routed to Ford Field in Detroit in order to preserve fan and player safety.

"Due to public safety concerns and out of an abundance of caution in light of the ongoing weather emergency in western New York, Sunday's game against the Browns will be moved to Ford Field in Detroit," the Bills said in a statement

To tie up loose ends of broadcasting, the league confirmed "The game will be televised on CBS at 1 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 20 as part of its regularly scheduled broadcast."

While authoritative sources such as the league and each team spread word quickly, it appears credit for the initial tip belongs to Buffalo reporter Jonah Bronstein. He relayed a preliminary email shared to students about the game's new locale.

Ford Field, unlike Highmark Stadium, is a domed stadium. Fantasy players, don't worry about the elements impacting game strategy for your team.
