With Thanksgiving and bye weeks in the rearview mirror, Week 13 marks the beginning of the home stretch of the NFL regular season. The calendar will flip to December this weekend and the playoff races will really start to heat up.
In fact, both New Orleans and the Los Angeles Rams can not only sew up their spot in the postseason but their divisions as well in Week 13. The Saints (10-1) can win the NFC South with a victory over Dallas (6-5) on "Thursday Night Football," coupled with a Carolina loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday. The Rams (10-1) just need to win in Detroit (4-7) to win the NFC West for the second straight season.
Elsewhere, Kansas City (9-2) returns from its bye to find the Los Angeles Chargers (8-3) nipping on their heels in the AFC West. The Chiefs travel to the Bay Area to face the lowly Raiders (2-9), while the Chargers will be in Pittsburgh to face the AFC North-leading Steelers (7-3-1) on "Sunday Night Football."
Other division leaders looking to pad or at least maintain their leads include Chicago (8-3) and Houston (8-3). The Bears are on the road to take on the Giants (3-8), while the Texans will put their eight-game winning streak on the line at home against a Cleveland (4-6-1) team that has won back-to-back games for the first time since the middle of the 2014 season.
But the game of the week may take place in Foxborough, as New England (8-3) can get a step closer to its 10th straight AFC East title with a win over the visiting Vikings (6-4-1). Minnesota is coming off of a victory against Green Bay and currently holds the first wild-card spot in the NFC.
Week 13 concludes with an NFC East matchup between Washington (6-5) and Philadelphia (5-6) on "Monday Night Football." The Redskins are coming off of a loss on Thanksgiving to Dallas while the Eagles are hoping to make a late push to get in the playoffs and have a shot at defending their Super Bowl title.
