Week 1 of the NFL season didn't disappoint (depending on which team you root for), so it will be interesting to see how Week 2 turns out. The opening week had a little bit of everything — record-setting performances, significant injuries, impressive debuts, thrilling finishes, and a tie!
It also included an emphatic statement by the defending Super Bowl champions. New England dominated Pittsburgh 33-3 on Sunday night and has added Antonio Brown to the roster. How much AB plays this week remains to be seen but he probably won't be needed considering the Patriots' opponent, Miami, gave up 59 points in Week 1.
Baltimore was the team that did all of that damage against the Dolphins and Lamar Jackson and the Ravens' new-look offense will host Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. The No. 1 overall pick of this year's draft got off to a slow start in his debut at home against Detroit, but put together a huge fourth quarter to fuel a rally that eventually produced a 27-27 tie. It's the second straight season Week 1 featured a tie (Pittsburgh-Cleveland in 2018).
But not every team got off to a great start. Two of those were Tampa Bay and Carolina, who will kick Week 2 off on "Thursday Night Football." The Panthers lost to the Rams while the Buccaneers fell to the 49ers as Jameis Winston had two interceptions returned for touchdowns.
Other 0-1 teams set to meet this week include Chicago in Denver, as the Bears look to bounce back against former defensive coordinator now Broncos head coach Vic Fangio. And all eyes will be on "Monday Night Football" when the Jets welcome the Browns to the Big Apple. New York blew a 16-point in its loss to Buffalo while Cleveland got embarrassed at home (43-13) by Tennessee.
Other intriguing matchups in Week 2 have Minnesota in Green Bay, Seattle at Pittsburgh, Kansas City in Oakland, and New Orleans vs. Los Angeles Rams in a rematch of last season's NFC Championship Game. The other primetime pairing this week has Philadelphia at Atlanta for "Sunday Night Football."
