It's only Week 3 of the NFL season and the landscape already looks different thanks to a rash of injuries and other developments. New Orleans, Pittsburgh, the Jets, and the Giants will have different starting quarterbacks on Sunday (and they may not be the only teams) due to injuries suffered by Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, and Trevor Siemian (who already was replacing Sam Darnold), as well as the benching of Eli Manning.
The games must go on, however, so it will be interesting to see how Teddy Bridgewater, Mason Rudolph, Luke Falk, and Daniel Jones perform on Sunday in their new roles. But the Week 3 slate kicks off with "Thursday Night Football," which pits the Tennessee Titans against the Jacksonville Jaguars. These AFC South rivals are used to playing each other on Thursday night and this time both teams are looking to navigate the short turnaround coming off of divisional losses last week.
As for the quarterback changes, Bridgewater gets a tough draw with the Saints in Seattle to face the Seahawks. Rudolph and the Steelers also are on the West Coast to take on the 2-0 San Francisco 49ers. Falk and Jets have to go to Gillette Stadium to face the steamroller that has been the New England Patriots while Jones and the Giants will be in Tampa to battle the Buccaneers.
But not every team is dealing with quarterback issues. That's certainly the case in one of the marquee matchups of the week as Lamar Jackson and the Ravens head to Arrowhead to face Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. These two signal-callers have been lighting it up early so this one should be entertaining.
Rounding out the slate, Cleveland gets another chance to impress in prime time as the Browns host the Los Angeles Rams for "Sunday Night Football" and Week 3 wraps up with the Chicago Bears paying a visit to the Washington Redskins on Monday night.
