If Week 9 is anything like Week 8 in terms of unexpected results and thrilling, last-second finishes, then NFL fans are in for a post-Halloween treat.
The action gets started with an NFC Championship Game rematch between Green Bay and San Francisco on "Thursday Night Football." Unfortunately, due to injuries on both sides, this meeting will look nothing like the one that took place back in January.
On Sunday, the early window finds Seattle in Buffalo for an intriguing clash of division leaders from different conferences. Elsewhere, Baltimore will look to bounce back after last week's loss to Pittsburgh when the Ravens head to Indianapolis in a matchup that could have playoff implications in the AFC.
Later on Sunday, the Raiders and Chargers will clash in SoFi Stadium while the Steelers will be in Dallas for a matchup of two of the league's all-time winningest franchises, although the Cowboys are having a really rough go of it in 2020. And plenty of attention will be focused on State Farm Stadium where Miami and Arizona will face off, meaning it will be Tua Tagovailoa and Kyler Murray on the same field.
But the game of the week happens on "Sunday Night Football," as New Orleans and Tampa Bay will renew acquaintances. Not only is first place in the NFC South on the line, but Drew Brees and Tom Brady also are battling each other for bragging rights when it comes to the most touchdown passes thrown in NFL history. Brady is currently ahead of Brees by one (561 vs. 560) and a Saints win would give them a season sweep of the Buccaneers.
Week 9 concludes with Patriots vs. Jets on "Monday Night Football" as both teams are looking to snap long losing streaks. The records may not be pretty, but it's still a divisional matchup and you know the Jets (especially their fans) would love to add to Bill Belichick's misery.
