The Cincinnati Bengals received crushing injury news this Thursday afternoon.
It's no secret the Bengals' offensive success relies on the Joe Burrow-Ja'Marr Chase connection. Unfortunately, it will be a one-man show for the next month or so.
Chase is dealing with a hip injury. To make matters worse, it's expected to sideline him for the next four to six weeks.
An unfortunate setback for Chase and the Bengals.
"Bengals’ WR Ja’Marr Chase is dealing with a hip injury that is expected to sideline him 4-6 weeks and makes him a prime candidate for injured reserve, per sources. Chase visited with a hip specialist Wednesday and is seeking more answers about his injury," said ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to multiple reports, the Chase was injured several weeks ago when the Bengals played the Saints.
Chase suffered the hip injury when he was "tackled awkwardly" in the end zone, per Mike Garafolo.
"Ja’Marr Chase was injured a few weeks ago against the #Saints when he was tackled awkwardly in the end zone. Has been bothered by the injury ever since. Shutting him down for a month or so seems likely," said NFL insider
Fans are pretty worried about the Bengals offense without Chase in the mix:
"I'm in no way a Bengals fan, but I am a fan of J. Chase! Even when he is playing my Chiefs I gotta respect that talent," a fan said.
"First time I cried in a long time. But next man up. Have to stay positive," another fan wrote.
Hopefully Ja'Marr Chase gets healed up soon. He's a special player.
