NFL World Reacts To Stunning Patriots Quarterback News

Patriots helmet.

Bill Belichick has done it. Mac Jones is sitting on the bench vs. the Bears this Monday evening.

Jones and the Pats offense opened tonight's game vs. the Bears with back-to-back three-and-outs. The boo birds were loud and clear at that point.

"Crowd boos after the handoff to Stevenson on 3rd and 10. Sloppy start for the #Patriots, in particular the offensive line. Trent Brown with 3 penalties already. Less than ideal," said Mike Giardi.

Then in the second quarter Jones threw a costly interception in Bears' territory.

Bill Belichick has pulled the trigger and replaced Jones with rookie Bailey Zappe.

"Gotta feel for Mac Jones. Comes back from injury, throws a pick and the entire stadium erupts when Zappe replaces him," said Tom Grossi.

Patriots fans were chanting for the rookie loud and clear. He's making the most of the opportunity.

"Bailey Zappe touchdown. The roar here at Gillette is thunderous. Chants of MVP! MVP! MVP! break out," said Pro Football Network.

Bailey Zappe looks the part. He's led the Pats on two straight touchdown drives.

New England leads Chicago 14-10 in the second quarter.
