NFLPA Releases Official Statement To Address Terrifying Tua Tagovailoa Situation

Tua Tagovailoa stretchered off

On Thursday night, some things were bigger than football. Tua Tagovailoa appeared to get knocked unconscious after hitting his head on the turf during a tackle.

The Dolphins quarterback was stretchered off the field just moments later. Fortunately, he traveled home with his team and is able to move all extremities.

The NFLPA, meanwhile, is opening an investigation into a "potential protocol violation."

"Player health and safety is at the core of the union's mission. Our concern tonight is for Tua and we hope for a full and speedy recovery. Our investigation into the potential protocol violation is ongoing," the NFLPA announced.

Tagovailoa came up wobbly after a hit during Sunday's game between the Dolphins and Bills. However, he was cleared by team doctors to play on Thursday night.

The NFLPA will investigate whether or not the proper protocol was followed. If it wasn't the Dolphins are in big trouble. If it was then this is simply a coincidence.

The priority, of course, is Tagovailoa's health. We wish him all the best in his recovery.
