One of the most important components of sports is branding. You want a logo that stands out among the rest.
Nike is accusing Rob Gronkowski of not getting his own unique logo. According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, Nike has filed a formal opposition saying the Patriots star's "Gronk Nation" logo of himself spiking a football is too close to Michael Jordan's Jumpman logo. The irony is that Gronk, like Jumpman, is sponsored by Nike.
"My client has created one fo the most recognizable brands in sports today," Gronk's attorney stated. "We are very proud of this brand and are optimistic that we will resolve this with Nike amicably."
This could be the end of Gronk's logo or the beginning of a very long fight between the two.
