Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott isn't expected to play this weekend vs. the Los Angeles Rams.
However, the Cowboys' franchise quarterback is taking significant steps toward his eventual return.
Prescott is no longer wearing a protective brace he had placed on his right hand post-surgery.
The Cowboys quarterback spent Thursday's practice working on conditioning and ball-handling. He did not throw the ball at all.
"#Cowboys QB Dak Prescott discarded the small protective brace he was again wearing on his surgically-repaired right thumb today as he worked on conditioning and ball-handling. He did no throwing in the portion of practice open to reporters," said Ed Werder.
Sounds like good news on Dak Prescott. He's taking the right steps toward a return.
Cooper Rush, in the meantime, will continue running the show until Prescott returns. He's won three straight games for the 'Boys.
The Cowboys take on the Rams this Sunday.
