Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs took down Justin Herbert and the Chargers 27-24 at Arrowhead Stadium this Thursday night. However, it wasn't perfect.
The Chiefs caught a few lucky breaks and took advantage of the circumstances. Herbert threw a pick-six at the Kansas City one-yard line and seventh-round pick Justin Watson took it to the house. It was a 14-point swing in favor of Mahomes and Co.
It's a big win for the Chiefs, who have a tough road ahead. However, Mahomes sees plenty of room for improvement ahead of Week 3.
"Great Team Win! Ton of room for improvement but way to find a way! #ChiefsKingdom," he said.
The good news is Mahomes and the Chiefs made big plays when it matter most on Thursday night. That tends to be all that matters when it is all said and done.
With that being said, the Chiefs offense was out of sorts at times in Week 2. There were few big plays and the offense got out of sync at times. Imagine what this Kansas City offense can do once the chemistry is in full force.
Mahomes is clearly determined to get things right. That's the sign of a true franchise quarterback, especially after a win.
