Patrick Queen Takes Jab At Ravens While Praising Pittsburgh Steelers
The welcome mat hasn't even been broken in for former Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Queen, and he is already making himself at home with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In fact, he admits to being much happier in Pittsburgh than he was in Baltimore.
Sure, the Ravens are a perennial Super Bowl contender with one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but the absence of Lamar Jackson in Pittsburgh is irrelevant to Queen, who favors nearly everything about the Steelers over Baltimore.
He appreciates the fact that they made the playoffs last season. They also prioritized his contract by making him the highest-paid free agent in franchise history, while the Ravens declined his fifth-year option after paying his former teammate, Roquan Smith, instead.
Queen says that everything is better in the Steel City — from the food to the atmosphere, and everything in between.
"It’s a better atmosphere here for me. Everybody is cool, the people are cool, the players are cool and the food spots are better," Queen said, via The Athletic's Mark Kaboly.
He added, "I am a big food guy. I love food. I am more of a true food guy rather than a seafood guy. I like meat and stuff like that. It’s just a better atmosphere for me here.”
Ravens fans probably won't take too kindly to Queen putting the Steelers over in any way.
It's even harder coming from a former first-round draft pick who put together the best season of his career in 2023.
If anything, it adds even more fuel to one of the greatest rivalries in NFL history.
