Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Sharp In Training Camp Thus Far

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts struggled through OTAs and minicamps, but has seemingly turned a corner and has been sharp at training camp thus far.

Back in OTAs and mandatory minicamps, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts looked off. He wasn’t sharp on his throws and gave up multiple turnovers. Brooks Kubena of The Athletic even wrote the Hurts was a turnover machine.

“In addition to the pick-six Hurts threw to Rodgers, Hurts was intercepted one other time during Thursday’s drills,” Kubena wrote back in June. “He tried to force a crosser to A.J. Brown into a crowded middle. The ball was expectedly batted by several defenders until linebacker Zach Baun corralled it for an interception.

“Hurts did attempt a deep ball: Ringo, covering Parris Campbell tightly, jumped and deflected the challenge.”

That was then. This is now. Through the first week of training camp, Hurts hasn’t thrown a single interception. Throughout the offseason, Hurts dealt with a lot of questions about his relationship with coach Nick Sirianni and his leadership questioned.

According to ESPN’s Tim McManus, Hurts has been good through the first week of camp.

“Hurts has been highly efficient through three training camp practices,” said Eagles OC Kellen Moore. “He has yet to throw an interception and has been largely accurate and on time with his throws. “Jalen has been really smooth the first couple of days.

“He’s been excellent, just his operation. You can tell he’s just in command, he’s in control.”

Eagles fans everywhere are excited to see how this offense works with all the stars on the field at the same time.
